The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has said the 2019 re-election bid of President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC government will be very easy.

The minister stated this on Tuesday in Oyo while inspecting the 52-kilometre dualised Oyo-Ogbomosho road project under construction by Reynold Construction Company (RCC)

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the N47.5 billion project is the section two of the entire Ibadan-Ilorin road ‘dualisation’ project.

Section one of the road construction project, which is Ibadan-Oyo, as well as section three which is Ogbomoso-Ilorin, had been completed

Addressing reporters at the construction site, Mr Mohammed said the administration “is so confident of its re-election in 2019 because of what are being delivered in terms of infrastructure and social welfare.

Its not strange hearing issues like this from the likes of Lai Mohammed while the truth stare us in the face everyday with strategy and propaganda out of fear of loosing the next election.

In the face of voter education and understanding of gross mismanagement of the economy, APC will obviously need more than a miracle to survive 2019. It’s the first time Nigeria is making budget in N8 trillion yet giving out projects on long term loans to Chinese Contractors.

Almost all the road, rail and other infrastructural projects going on under this APC Government are proceeds of loan despite allocations from budget.

The logic is simple; the likes of Fashola, Amaechi given important portfolio by this Government sees it as settlement for their earlier investment in 2015 election and have notoriously abused their offices since appointment.

In other instances, there are questions of impunity, corruption and mal-administration by the Executives which is very opened to the public. political in-fighting is another issue that cannot be easily swept away with most leaders of National Assembly tagged as newPDP.

With the on-going insecurity in the country and growing hardship, it’s very easy to see how 2019 will not be 2015 and Lai Mohammed has certainly gotten this wrong.
